^lThe Workings of PICT Control 1. System Considerations: PICT Control was designed to operate as quickly and reliably as possible while keeping the size of the CDEF resource to a practical minimum. One decision that was made in the interest of these objectives was to use certain ROM routines (the fast “1” series resource manager routines) introduced in the Macintosh Plus’ 128K ROM. If you wish to use PICT Controls in an application, be sure to test for the presense of the 128K (or better) ROMs. If this becomes an enormous problem, let me know and I’ll look into good solutions (and if it isn’t a problem you might let me know that as well).
